I've know The Grade for quite some time now, and for a 3-piece, their sound just gets bigger and better.

All 3 members were far more talented musicians than I'd ever be, Jack's power in his voice and the way he moves around that guitar with such ease, Ben's crazy, unique and powerful Bass playing and Elliott's amazing and loud Drums combine a 3-piece to be able to make as loud a noise as my 5-piece band...and we have a synth player! Then again, Ell is our drummer too, so...

I've seen The Grade live only once, and a few times Acoustically and they've been outstanding every time. They're defiantly a band I would go see again and again when I get chance and would recommend them to anyone looking for good, quality, original music that stands out, no matter where they are on the bill!

The Grade are a three piece original rock band from Burntwood, with Elliott Blower on drum, Ben Wigley on Bass and Jack Lloyd on guitar and vocals. The trio can really get the girls dancing with, coincidentally the song "Dance" and with a vast amount of catchy hooks and hard hitting riffs, the lads really put on a good show. Solid beats and funky bass lines drive the overall sound of the band making them well worth a listen!

We’re in Cannock for Lightfire’s EP launch and we’re looking forward to a stacked line-up of fresh new music talent, and next on stage it’s local 3-piece rock band, The Grade.

The Grade crack straight on with their first track ‘See Me, Hear Me’. A song with a cracking intro into a really funky breakdown, and already the band’s influences are evident, with a definite hint of prog-rock superstars Muse about their sound.

Technical hitches aside (problems with amps and sound) the band play tight, if a little nervous at first, but relax into the set as it progresses.

And that’s exactly what it does. The set continues to build and after the second track the crowd are starting to eat it up. It’s at this point you can hear that the lead singer has a certain Matt Bellamy meets Brian Molko quality to his voice.

The tempo raises into the 3rd track and The Grade’s sound adds a twist of Arctic Monkeyness, and it’s a sound we find incredibly appealing. This hybrid of Muse, and Artic Monkeys really whets the appetite, and the crowd are loving it.

For 3 people The Grade can make some serious noise too. The combination of super bass, crashing drums, and thrashing guitar fills the room, and as The Grade hit ‘If You Feel Love’ the crowd can’t get enough.

‘If You Feel Love’ was a highlight of a very good set. A real showcase track, an excellent chorus, and generates the biggest reaction of the set. A real crowd pleaser.

The Grade wrap up with ‘Heavy Track’ and a rapid instrumental finale, that brings the set to a close.

This band have real big potential. Their sound is one that pricked our ears, and really stood out. If they can get their tracks down, keep plugging away, and get out on the scene, with more gigs under their belt, the future could be very bright for this trio!

Saw The Grade back in 2012. Since then they have grown a distinctive sound. Top lads with a massive future. Supported The Farm and where well received by all ages.

The first time I saw the lads play live, Elliott (the drummer) had only been a member of the band for a few months, and when they started to play I thought they had been together for years! There live music sounds just as good as it does recorded, if not better!

All 3 lads always have a possitive attitude when on stage, very friendly and always interact with the crowd well!
I go to see the grade play at most gigs and dance my sock off all night, i enjoy every minute when they are on stage!!
